WHISPER results from a new
and original technology, covered by international patents. This technology
is incorporated in a new series of low noise gear pumps.
Until now the noise problem was tackled at the design stage by means of
paired phased gears or helical gears. However, size and performance (pressure
and efficiency) were more or less handicapped. The WHISPER pump solves
the noise problem without affecting size and performance.
These unique characteristics are available in four frame sizes. Multiple
pumps and motors are also available.
The WHISPER pump incorporates the "zero backlash" principle,
i.e. double contact between the meshing teeth. The trapped oil is divided
and made smaller, which increases the frequency and intrinsically reduces
the amplitude of the flow and pressure ripple. This pressure ripple is
the primary source of noise.
In a WHISPER pump, the frequency of the pressure ripple is double that
of a standard pump, and equals that of a phased gear pump. WHISPER also
produces a smaller amplitude and smoother profile.
The WHISPER pump allows a noise abatement of more than 5 dB(A) over the
whole range of speed and pressure, if compared with a standard pump.
